Weekend Masterclass at The Grove Studios
Capture Every Hit. Record Like a Pro.
Whether you're tracking in a world-class studio or cutting records in your basement, the way you record drums can make or break a mix. In this masterclass, you'll go beyond mic placement basics and dive deep into the art and science of capturing a killer drum sound — from tuning and dampening the kit before a single mic goes up, to choosing the right room, running effective preamps, and making smart decisions in the box.
You'll learn the techniques used on platinum records: how to get a chest-thumping kick, a snare that cuts through a wall of guitars, and overheads that breathe with life and dimension.
No matter your experience level, you'll walk away with the confidence and know-how to make drums sound exactly the way you hear them in your head.
Because great drum sounds don't happen by accident.
